According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), catalytic converter theft has spiked dramatically due to three precious metals found inside them: palladium, rhodium, and platinum.

Statistics compiled by the NICB, a group focused on preventing and prosecuting insurance crime, show theft of Catalytic Converters skyrocketed 1,215% from 2019 to 2022.

Theft of catalytic converters is costly, it can cost up to $10,000 to replace stolen converters and repair damage to a vehicle’s undercarriage, fuel line, and electric lines caused by theft.

How it works.

In the event that the Theft Deterrent System installed on the catalytic converter fails to prevent the catalytic converter from being stolen during the term of the program, we will reimburse you for the cost of a Replacement Catalytic Converter, the labor associated with the repair/replacement of the part and sales tax, if applicable. The Catalytic Converter Theft Protection Coverage will pay up to $10,000*.

Additional Vehicle Protection

In the event the catalytic converter is stolen and you incur an automotive insurance deductible expense due to this, we will pay an Additional Vehicle Protection Expense Benefit up to $1,000.
